Prof. Anna Bodzenta-Łukaszyk, MD, PhD

Professor Anna Bodzenta-Łukaszyk was Chair at the Department of Allergology and Internal Medicine at Medical University of Białystok, Poland from where she received her medical and doctorate degrees. Having received two 12-month scholarships she worked as a visiting scientist at the University Hospital of South Manchester, England (1980) and the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research, Milano, Italy (1984). She is board certified in internal medicine and allergology. Her major research interests include pathogenesis and management of bronchial asthma as well as pathogenesis of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction and genetic mutation in a hereditary angioedema. Professor Anna Bodzenta-Łukaszyk has authored or co-authored more than 150 original research articles published in peer-reviewed journals, 80 reviews and reports and 13 book chapters. She is a member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), European Respiratory Society (ERS), Polish Society of Allergology and Polish Society of Internal Medicine.

Associate Prof. Ewa Czarnobilska, MD, PhD

Professor Ewa Czarnobilska graduated from the Medical College of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and she has been a long-time head of the Clinical Allergology Center at the University Hospital in Kraków, as well as the head of the Chair of Toxicology and Environmental Diseases and Department of Clinical Allergology at the Jagiellonian University. She gained experience working in University Children’s Hospital in Kraków, St. Louis Regional Specialised Children’s Hospital in Kraków, at the Department of Allergology and Pneumology of the Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases in Rabka, and in University Hospital in Kraków, where as a head of Clinical Allergology Center she has been supervising Polish National Hereditary Angioedema Center. Professor Czarnobilska is the allergist, pediatrician, and Regional Allergology Consultant. She has authored or co-authored 131 research articles in national and international magazines, reviews and reports and 10 book chapters. She has participated in different scholarships and she has been awarded with many different prizes for scientific, clinical and social activities. Professor Czarnobilska is a member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), Polish Society of Allergology, Polish Association of Preventing from Allergic Diseases, and the Member of the Health Care Consulting Group of the Mayor of city of Krakow.   

Joanna Jamroz-Brzeska, MD

Joanna Jamroz-Brzeska, MD, graduated from the Medical University in Łódź. She has been doctoral candidate at the Chair of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology at the Medical University in Łódź, as well as she has been working at the Department of Immunology and Allergy in University Hospital in Łódź, where she specializes in allergology. She conducts researches on the aging processes of a respiratory system in patients with bronchial asthma to determine the pathogenesis of this disease, and the quality of life of Hereditary Angioedema patients cooperating with Polish Association of Angioedema Patients’ Aid. Dr Jamroz-Brzeska is a member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), Polish Society of Allergology and Association of Asthma and Allergy Diseases Patients’ Aid. 

Mateusz Łukaszyk, MD, PhD

Mateusz Łukaszyk, MD, PhD, graduated from the Medical University of Białystok, where he has started his scientific career, initially during his college time as a member of student research group at the Allergology Department and after the graduation as a medical doctor at the University Hospital in Białystok.  He is the winner of many awards and honors, both nationally and internationally and he has received trainings in international scientific HAE centres. His major research interests, especially include epidemiology and pathophysiological mechanism of hereditary and allergic angioedema, and that’s what he has received his doctorate from. Mateusz Łukaszyk is a member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), Polish Society of Allergology, European Respiratory Society (ERS), Polish Society of Pneumonology and Polish Society of Internal Medicine.

Prof. Marcin Moniuszko, MD, PhD

Following graduation from medical faculty, prof. Moniuszko has been extensively trained abroad (e.g. at National Cancer Institute, NIH, Betehsda, USA). He has been awarded with numerous prizes (e.g. “Polityka” Award, Foundation for Polish Science). Since 2004 he has been working at Department of Allergology and Internal Medicine and he is now the head of this department. In 2012 he became a head of newly created Department of Regenerative Medicine and Immune Regulation. He is a Vice-Rector for Science at Medical University of Bialystok wherein the studies on development of personalized diagnostics and therapy have been conducted for last couple of years. It has been achieved (among others) by innovative international PhD studies in biomedicine and biostatistics created by prof. Moniuszko that are funded by grants from H2020 program and Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Robert Pawłowicz, MD, PhD

Robert Pawłowicz, MD, PhD, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University in Wroclaw, where apart from academic work in the Chair of Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Allergology, he received PhD degree in 2007. He is the allergist and the internal medicine consultant at the Department of Internal Medicine and Allergology at the University Hospital in Wroclaw. He has authored or co-authored of over 60 scientific publications and many book chapters. His main scientific work focus on urticarial and angioedema, including Hereditary Angioedema, as well as immunotherapy in allergic diseases and biological treatment of allergic diseases. Robert Pawłowicz is a member of the Polish Society of Allergology and the Polish Society of Internal Medicine. 

Prof. Maciej Siedlar, MD, PhD

Maciej Siedlar, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine at the Institute of Paediatrics at Medical College of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.  He completed his medical degree at the Nicolaus Copernicus Medical Academy in Krakow in 1989. In parallel to his medical specializations in the field of Internal Medicine and Clinical Immunology, he received his PhD degree in 1994 and in 2007 completed habilitation at the Jagiellonian University. He is a head of the Chair of Clinical Immunology and Transplantology and Department of Clinical Immunology, as well as National Clinical Immunology Consultant at the Ministry of Health. Professor Siedlar is a member of the Council of the European Macropghage and Dendritic Cell Society (EMDS), National Transplantology Council and the President-elect of the Polish Society of Experimental and Clinical Immunology. He spent two years in the Institute of Immunology at the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich on the Alexander von Humboldt scholarship. His present scientific work focus on the pathophysiology of primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs), rheumatic and neoplastic diseases and regulation of proinflammatory immune responses, especially of human monocytes/macrophages. He is the author of over 90 original scientific publications cited ca. 1700 times, and many book chapters. Maciej Siedlar has been working clinically in the University Children’s Hospital in Kraków.

Marcin Stobiecki, MD, PhD

Marcin Stobiecki, MD, PhD, graduated from the Medical College of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. He is the allergist, the internal medicine consultant and the adjunct faculty at the Department of Clinical Allerology of the Jagiellonian University. He also works at the Clinical Allergology Center at University Hospital in Krakow and at the Polish National Hereditary Angioedema Center, where for over twenty years he has been diagnosing and treating patients with HAE. Marcin Stobiecki is a member of both, the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) and the Polish Society of Allergology. He has authored and co-authored of over 35 publications regarding issues of allergology, as well as Hereditary Angioedema, which is his main clinical interests. Marcin Stobiecki has been main researcher and co-researcher in many clinical trials, whose effectiveness contributed to the creation of modern HAE therapies for the patients.  

Tomasz Tomasik, MD, PhD

Tomasz Tomasik, MD, PhD, is a medical practitioner, academic teacher, scientist and social volunteer. He is involved in work for GP’s and Primary Health Care in Poland. He works at the Department of Family Medicine of the Jagiellonian University – Collegium Medicum and Group Practice of GP’s in Krakow. From 2002 to 2017, he was the Chairman of the Expert’ Panel supervising applications submitted by the Family Medicine Sites, and since 2013 he has been President of the General Practitioners Society in Poland. In 2016, he was the head of the think factory appointed by the Minister of Health, responsible for developing a strategy for system’ solutions in Primary Health Care. He is a part of the editorial board of scientific magazines: “Lekarz Rodzinny” and “Problemy Medycyny Rodzinnej”.
